The Gap and Natural Bridge

On Sunday morning we woke up and drove 50kms to the town of Albany.  Again, we had an awesome brekkie and then we set out to find The Gap (not the store!) and the Natural Bridge before heading home to Perth.

We parked our car and walked out to discover these massive granite rocks!  If you walk over them, this is what you see...

Wow!

This is the Natural Bridge that was formed out of the granite.  The waves have pounded and eroded the rocks to form the bridge.  It was so neat to stand up here and watch the ocean rush in and our underneath of the bridge.

They have a small railing where we are standing for a good view of the bridge...but there's nothing to stop you from walking on top of it...other than the fear of falling in!  They have warning signs all over the place saying that people have been swept out to sea!

The coast here is simply amazing.

You have to be really careful when climbing around on the rocks...look at this crevice!

T ventured out to the edge...don't worry parents - he promised to be safe!

That's far enough!!

You can't help but realize how powerful these waves are!  Or how beautiful God made our Earth!!

We were being safe, promise!!

I was trying to capture all the different colors of the water as the waves rush back and forth over the rocks.

This is The Gap!  It's a large gap in between the rocks where the water rushes in and then surges WAY up high!!

Here it comes!

It sounds like thunder as it pounds away at the rocks!

This picture doesn't show it well enough, but we were really up high!

That was a BIG wave!!!

After the excitement of the Gap and Natural Bridge, we happened upon Cable Beach.  And I'm SO glad we did.

This goes to show how dangerous the waves really can be!

Look at the lighthouse!

There are no words to describe how pretty this water is.

Or how handsome my husband is! :)

We sat on the edge of the rocks and just stared at the ocean and listened to the waves rushing in...
There is hardly a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I really didn't want to leave!  We had this entire place to ourselves!

This is my kind of adventure.

Unfortunately, it was time to head back to the "real world" in Perth. :)  This memory will last forever in my heart.

We couldn't help it!  This cracked us up!!! :)
