Happy Birthday, Tyson!

I continually praise God for my amazing husband, and this weekend we were able to celebrate his 26th birthday!  Tyson is such a precious gift to me and I love when his birthday comes around because it gives me another chance to try and show him just how special he is!  I am so proud of him and everything he has become in his 26 years.  Since we're away from all of our family and friends, I wanted to make his day extra special because I knew he'd be missing all of you back home!

We woke up and went out for brekkie at The Blue Duck.  We had a table on the balcony overlooking the beach!

The birthday boy definitely enjoyed his brekkie...and the rest of mine!

A perfect place, and perfect way to start celebrating my hubby!

A sweet couple walking by offered to take our picture!

After brekkie, we met up with James, Pete & Allison to watch the Red Bull Air Race!

It was a beautiful (but HOT!) day to watch the planes race over the water!

This was near the landing strip

The Red Bull Air Race wouldn't be complete without the Red Bull tent.

Coming in for a landing!

The Red Bull Airplane!  These pilots really are amazingly good!  After watching the race and getting our fair share of the sun, we grabbed an Icee with James and then I took Tyson to pick out his own "Aussie Hat" as part of his present.

Didn't he pick a cute one?!  We came home and he opened his presents....

Inside joke - but purrfect card!! :)

One thing we've come to miss in Australia is some of our favorite food!  On any normal birthday, Tyson would not be quite this excited about getting a Butterfinger!  But I actually found one here (which is a big deal) and could justify spending $3.50 for it since it was his birthday!

Again, you can't just go to any grocery store and find Pop-Tarts.  I found them at a special candy store - even though they're literally 10 times the price you pay at Wal-Mart, it was totally worth it for his smile!

Last but not least, a brand new stunt kite!  The very windy city of Perth is perfect for kite flying!

We drove to the beach to try out his kite...it was super windy and there were literally tons of kite surfers out!

Can you see all of them?!  We didn't want to get tangled with anyone, so we decided to fly the kite on another day.  We went home and got all snazzed up for T's birthday dinner!

I took him to Applecross since he hadn't gotten to see it yet...God blessed us with a picture perfect sunset!

Happy Birthday to the Most Handsome Boy around!

Blissful sunset.

We ate dinner at The Blue Water Grill - the windows literally look out at what you saw in the above pictures!  Tyson LOVED his steak and fries! :)  An outstanding birthday meal!

Yum!  I had the chicken with roasted pumpkin and potatoes!  Delish!  After a fantastic meal, we went home for birthday cake!

I made him a pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting - and he was a bit eager to dig in to it!  All of that homemade pumpkin pureeing sure was worth it - because he absolutely, positively LOVED his birthday cake.  I must say, it was quite amazing.  All in all, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate Tyson's 26 years!  I think it will be a birthday we'll never forget!

On Sunday morning we tried out another church (which has a pastor from TEXAS!!) and then walked over to King's Park to catch some more of the air race.  Check out all of the boats/yachts parked on the Swan River to watch!

Must be nice.

We found a tree that Tyson just HAD to take a picture of...

...because it belongs to Duke! (the family doberman)  Who knew he had a tree just for him all the way in Perth?!

Later that night we took James back to Applecross for a bbq since he hadn't seen it before.  Again, the view was spectacular.
