T and I went on our first Aussie Roadtrip this weekend and had an amazing time! We drove south from Perth for about 4 hours to the quaint "Shire of Denmark" and stayed in a precious little log cabin by the water. From Denmark we drove to several different sights and here's a small glimpse at what we saw. The pictures just can't seem to do it justice! The first day we woke up, had a true "Aussie Brekkie" (short for breakfast) and went to the Valley of the Giants and did a tree top walk through the massive Karri and Tingle trees. They truly are giants!
A view from our hotel/cabin looking out at Wilson's Inlet.
We took a stroll down to check out the water before dinner. It was kind of a gloomy day, but it actually made for a really neat view.
Ready for a yummy dinner after a long drive to Denmark!
Looking back up to the hotel and restaurant. This dock was a bit rickety, and I'm certain there were crocodiles in there just waiting to get me. We walked fast.
My adorable husband at dinner. Isn't he cute?! This was a perfect date night. We had great food and then got rested up for our adventurous Saturday!
We were sad that it was an overcast and kind of rainy morning, but the giants were waiting!
This giant was not so fortunate. Just look at the size of it!
Here we are at the highest point (40 meters I think) amid the tops of the trees!
Cheese!
We were really high up! It just goes to show how tall these trees really are!
A look at the treetop bridge.
Tyson kept asking if he jumped off, which branches would be able to hold him. I obviously didn't let him try. We're not THAT adventurous.
Wow! These giants can live for 400 years!
The bridge just kept on going and going!
Look closely and you'll find a very handsome boy standing on the bridge .
There he is! It's T-man!
After we walked through the top of the trees, we went on another walk along the bottom of the forest floor. Just look at how enormous this trunk is!
Maybe this will give you a better idea of how gigantic they are!! :)
We walked right through this one!
Is that a quokka hiding in there?!
I was amazed at how HUGE these trees are! And it's still alive even with these large holes in the trunk!
