Sandboarding!

On Sunday we drove to Lancelin (about 1.5 hrs from Perth) with James, Adrian, Pete and Allison.  We rented a few boards and hit the dunes for some extreme sandboarding!  It was a blast!!! (Literally - we were sandblasted on top of the dunes bc it was so windy!!)  We had SUCH a fun day - the pictures describe it way better than I ever could with words!  Keith - this was the best way we could think of to celebrate your birthday! :) (Wish you could've been there!)  Happy 24th - I love you so much!

Our first look at the dunes on a gorgeous October day!

There were loads of 4-wheelers and dirt bikes!  The mini ones were so cute  Look how tiny!!

Walking out to the dunes for sandboarders...

The picture doesn't quite show how big they really are!

...unfortunately, the Hyundai Accent is not really made for off-roading, so we had to walk it.

Finally there and T-man can't wait to get to the top!

Waxin' up the board for extra speed.

Aaaaand he's off....

...aaaand he's down!  JK - he's faking it! :)

James, Tyson and I ready to make the trek to the top!

We should've trained for all of this climbing!

In fact, I need a breather...it's much harder to get up than it looks!!

But wow!  The view from the top is amazing!  Look to the right and you can see the coast...

...look to the left and the dunes go on for miles!

Ty & I at the top before I take my first ride down!

We quickly discovered that 2 at a time is way fun!

Tyson, Adrian and Pete decided to race...

The proud champ!  Although it looks like he might've jumped the gun...

James giving Allison & Pete quite a push down!

Hmmm...what trouble can we get into next?

If 2 is good, why not try 3?!  It's a bit tight, but they made it work!

Right, so if 3 is good...why not try 4?!

Okay, maybe 4 is really pushing it...

They didn't get too far at all...

It was totally worth watching them try to make it work!

So if 4 was too tight...why not try 5 people between 2 boards?!

They lost Tyson...

...but Pete managed to hold on and Allison is hidden in there somewhere!

...and they all came crashing down!

After playing so hard, we stopped at a pub for lunch...this was the view from their patio!

I sometimes wonder if looking at this ocean will ever get old...somehow, I don't think it will.

I couldn't help but think of the BEST Father-in-Law in the world when I saw this!  Frank, come visit us soon!  You'll fit in perfectly!

This blog is like a great TV show that doesn't have re-runs. Everyday is a new adventure. The video is a nice touch. We want more...when is the new spin off going to hit the blog-o-sphere so we can satisfy our thirst for more of the Outback? Awesome!
