Symphony Under the Stars!

After Tyson's brilliant performance in the triathlon, we had a relaxing day together and then met up with some of our new friends from church for a concert at the park.  I'm not sure if I've blogged about our new small group or not, but praise the Lord for answering our prayers to get plugged in at church and find a group of people that we can connect with!  We feel as though we've been blessed in abundance with all of these amazing friends coming into our lives.  Anyways, back to the concert!  It was a symphony orchestra playing the theme songs to popular movies like: James Bond, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, etc.  Have I mentioned before how much Aussie's like to picnic?!  Well, it is quickly becoming one of our very favorite Aussie traditions - especially on a night like this!  We laid out on our picnic blanket under the stars listening to all of our favorite soundtracks...it was a night to remember!

A beautiful summer evening in Perth!

These people have definitely mastered the art of picnicing!

Our sweet friends!  Meredith & Han (in front) and Pip & Simon.

More sweet friends!  Meg & Paul - we've really connected with them and they're even taking us "home" with them for Easter!!

The sun was setting just behind the stage - gorgeous!

K&T!  Doesn't he look fantastic after all of that hard work in the triathlon earlier!?

This was obviously not from the symphony - but I had to include it because we've introduced our Aussie friends Meg & Paul to Guitar Hero!!  She loved it! :)

This sounds great and all, but I didn't see any of the "Great" songs from movies that I thought should be on there. For instance, why didn't they include the themes from Karate Kid, Tron, "Bear Neccesities" from Jungle Book, Dark Crystal, The breakup song from When Harry Met Sally, or Tyson's favorite Annie? The picnic looked cool though and Guitar Hero is awesome!!!

Oh Karis, I would have LOVED that concert. Being a band nerd and all, we played lots of movie music. I now love listening to the music from great movies like that...so jealous!!
